The Organist

George Sharman

 

In 1988 he gained a M.Phil. for his research on"Sir R R Terry(1865-1938)-the composer" Richard Terry was the first Organist of Westminster Cathedral.

George Sharman was Organist at both the Anglican and American Episcopal Churches in Rome for a total of 9 years where he completed further organ studies with Wijnand Van De Pol in Rome and Guy Bovet and Lionel Rogg in Switzerland.

In 2008 he was awarded a D.Mus.A. for research and publications on "Late 19th century and early 20th century Religious Music"

He is currently preparing a book on"Rediscovered Hymn Tunes (of the late 19th and early 20th century)".
